So blessed.

I’m not one for excessive patriotism, I don’t have a particularly occa drawl or own a ute, I don’t fit a ‘typical’ Australian stereotype – not that many people I know do either, but this year on the 26th of January, 2012 – I sat on a beach with some friends, watching the lacey foam spilling over the edges of the waves, crashing into swimmers that plunged their heads into its cool relief, I sat there and thought, “Blessed. I am so blessed.”

I’m so happy that I can live in a place where I have the economic and social freedoms that are unheard of in 80% of the rest of the world. I am so blessed. To have such amazing family and friends, to be able to travel and experience life! So here’s to the blessings that this country’s lifestyle affords us, may we endeavour to deserve it, and remember that everyone else should be able to experience this too.

I am a person who loves books.
